People often ask me, seeing that I am intolerant to gluten and dairy and try to avoid sugar, what it’s like to make dairy free desserts.

While I am more of a savoury person, when I do want something sweet it’s always easier (and cheaper) to just make it myself. As long as I have gluten free flour, soya margarine, xanthan gum and sweet freedom, it’s a quick look on the internet or in one of my specialist recipe books (It’s All Good by Gwyneth Paltrow is the best, reviewed here) then it’s not that hard to rustle something up.

Here are a few examples of what I’ve made recently – from left, clockwise – oat free granola, chocolate cake, fruit crumble and pancakes.
