Review: Diggory Digger And The Dinosaurs

My three year old loves dinosaurs so I knew this book was going to go down a treat.

The story tells the rhyming tale of Diggory the Digger and his friend Morris the Mole as they dig deep into the earth and go on an extraordinary adventure, encountering a variety of digger-cum-dinosaurs on their journey.

The illustrations are amazing; Kingston was taken with them as much as he was by the riveting story. Author Peter Bently was awarded the 2011 Roald Dahl Funny Prize for his book ‘Cats Ahoy’ in the ‘Funniest book for under sixes’ category and he’s brought more of that rhyming magic to Diggory Digger and the Dinosaurs.

If your little boy loves diggers and/or dinosaurs (and don’t most boys?) he’s going to love this book. We’ve read it three times already and we’ve only had it for two days!

Diggory Digger And The Dinosaurs by Peter Bently. Illustrated by Guy Parker-Rees. Egmont Books.
