A few weeks ago we were all invited to the Beechdean Ice Cream and Nickelodeon frozen desserts launch of Dora the Explorer and Spongebob Squarepants ice cream.
Beechdean has partnered with Nickelodeon to bring outDora the Explorer and SpongeBob SquarePants ice cream and frozen lollies. We made it a real family affair, the four of us and my two sisters-in-law and their children. All in the name of journalistic research of course!
We went along to the Odeon Cinema in Covent Garden (for a Smurfs 2 screening) on a blistering hot day so we were so grateful to be given free reign with the ice cream freezer! I was worried that with Kingston and I being lactose intolerant we’d just have to drink water but thankfully Beechdean have this covered with strawberry Dora the Explorer and orange flavoured SpongeBob ice-lollies.
Watch the fun here.
I expected my two to prefer Dora (the girl and the lolly) but SpongeBob came miles ahead in the taste test. I prefer strawberry to plain old orange but what do I know?
SpongeBob mini ice cream tubs are available in chocolate, strawberry and vanilla which to the sophisticated adult palate might not seem like much but is perfect for kids who aren’t yet into salted caramel, olive oil ice cream (yes, it’s a thing) or hazelnut ganache!
The ice cream pots aren’t too large (these are treats after all) and the frozen lollies don’t contain ridiculous amounts of sugar so are perfect for hot days.
With all our intolerances we will definitely be buying the SpongeBob frozen lollies; Kingston is very fussy with sweet things so now I’ve found something he actually likes I’ll be stocking up before he changes his mind!
Dora the Explorer/SpongeBob SquarePants frozen lollies – £1 each
SpongeBob SquarePants ice cream tubs – £1.20/110ml tub
